Blackout (2)
Time is the only constant, we may dwell on the past, but there is nothing we can do to change it. Or is there? Blackout offers a new perspective with the knowledge that there are those among us who have the ability to make leaps back in time. Such a gift comes with a price and Blackout offers an action-packed and character-driven sci-fi adventure that rips you from your seat and thrusts you into a fantastic journey.

Michael Swann is alone, it hasn’t always been this way, but he is haunted by the tragic accident that claimed the life of his teenage son. Since the loss of his son Swann’s marriage has fallen apart and he has become a solitary man, enjoying his time in the mountains and wilderness over everything else.

One fateful day while climbing on the dangerous cliffs of Kalymnos, Greece Swann stumbles upon a mysterious woman that seemingly appears from nowhere. As he attempts to speak with her Swann suddenly finds himself stood in the middle of a First World War battlefield. Awash with confusion and disbelief Swann struggles to understand what is happening and blacks out.

When Swann awakes, he finds himself in the confines of a converted underground reservoir overseen by General Cole, a stern military officer who runs a secret internationally funded project named Operation Tempus. As Swann learns he is blessed, or cursed, with a dormant ability to leap through time he must choose whether to embrace his gift or turn his back and leave it as a gift unexplored.

Welcomed into the fold of Tempus, Swann embarks on a gruelling and challenging training program that will test him to his very limits. As the training begins to take its toll, Swann finds friendship and a unique love in the arms of Adrian, the resident doctor. As his time in Tempus allows Swann the chance to discover more about himself he finds that he is no longer the man he once was and with self-discovery comes a new sense of purpose and belonging.

As his skill and understanding increase Swann finds himself stalked by the mysterious woman that thrust him into the world.

Swann’s adventures in time will see him thrust into the gladiatorial arenas of Ancient Rome, the Parisian Streets of the Second World War and more importantly the very site of his son’s death.

Fast-paced and gripping, Blackout offers a profoundly emotional and character-driven journey through one man’s dark past and a future he would never have expected or wanted.

Capturing the rip-roaring pace of adventures such as The Lost World, Inception and James Bond Blackout offers a fresh take on the time-travel genre. Avoiding the idea of becoming bogged down in the science and the how it promises to be a page-turning adventure that will leave you breathless from start to finish.

When you’ve spent your whole life running from the past, would you go back?

Readers describe Blackout as:

Very much a new take on, The Butterfly Effect theory and how small changes in the past could have major Effects in the future.” GOODREADS REVIEW

“This book is about time travel without using a time machine. Michael Swann did not know he was capable of jumping from the past to the present. What he thought was a way of helping people turned out to be a disappointment. Very good story.” GOODREADS REVIEW
