Kalen Trinneer arrived at his supervisor's office in the domed city of Central and paused before the closed door. To one side, a green light on the panel indicated that she was expecting him. The well-lit corridor was empty but he could hear voices and footsteps nearby, audible over the constant hum of the air supply units.
