Life starts here...

Pity the kids trapped in urban ghettos or parents too uptight to let their darlings catch a few germs. In my garden today, I lay on the grass endlessly fascinated by this:Frog spawn. Photo copyright SvD.Original link

The Marriage Mindset

Besides being born, going off to college, or landing a dream job, the biggest adventure any human being will embark on is marriage. With that being said, marriage has often been played out in society as what it's not, an acquisition. Marriage is in fact a holy union of two souls connected by the spirit of their Creator, committed to a life long journey.Sadly, most people aren't raised to develop a "marriage momentum," throughout their early stages of development. The combination of mindsets, psychological health as individuals, and compatibility as a couple provides a promising vitality of lifelong love. Unfortunately, despite all of the good momentum required to have a life long union of ho...

Sunday Supper

Instead of potatoes with everything, why not replace them with vegetables? This was our supper last night: roast duck served with a medley of roasted root vegetables (cauliflower, beetroot, garlic). Everything cooked in the oven while we argued over Scrabble. A shaving of Parmesan on the vegetables added another layer of flavour.Photo copyright SvD.Original link

Who Dares Wins

Nothing in life worth anything comes without risk. These days, doing good can be manipulated into something selfish or evil. People are now reluctant to take any position publicly. And they are losing.Inaction assures bad results… Saving lives requires risk. Saying NO to your children requires risk. Sharing traditional values requires risk. These days one can be instantly criticized worldwide on facecrook, twitter, and the maze of social networks. The meek withdraw. Except that everybody is retreating from the cacophony of the self-righteous left. You must dare to do good…or we all lose. The world’s toughest Special Operations Forces are in England. The SAS, Special Air Service. The SBS, Specia...

Ten More Days Until Spring!!

Signs of SpringThis Monday in March, I searched for evidence.A comforting reassurance hidden behind turbulent clouds. The garden fairies were sure to be shivering, But the sound of tiny wings fluttered above.Their voices subdued,as if humbled by the weather.Perhaps working overtime and exhausted, paintbrushes dry, canvases sodden with months of rain, they hide in the wild clover.Stitching petals in the overgrowth, behind evergreens and tall grass,on the other side of the gazebo, they create the magic.I noticed small hints.Wee colorful scraps, vivid shreds, akin to short pieces of yarn, swept into the dustpan after crafting. They popped out near the rosemary.Tiny bouquets of pink, sprouting bulbs,a sin...

Stone Age

Stone Age
My friend is a stone mason. He carries large rocks and hand chisels them into wall pieces. Handmade foundations of sweat and probably a little cursing. Then he goes to church. LOLHis life is physical. Unlike most professions… mind and extra body goes into every long hour of the day. The result lasts forever. Stone foundations. What our country is lacking is the understanding that for something to be good it takes real effort not entitlement. Most of our immigrant population are honored to have hard work that pays… for where they come from it does not. Let’s stop slamming our country and rebuild her. From infrastructure to bureaucracy we need to reorganize and refocus. Our forefathers laid a gr...

Library Love!

So sorry that you weren't able to make it to our local library last Tuesday. My presentation took place in a large room filled with smiling faces and lots of hospitality. There were snacks galore, such as cake, sandwiches, appetizers, cookies, muffins, etc.  What a wonderful group of kind and generous human beings! I want to thank the Friends of the Murrieta Library for allowing me to speak. It was a huge honor. Of course I talked about my books and The Intangible Heart. Here are snippets from my talk:My name is Eve Gaal and I’m a local author from Wildomar and a member of the Diamond Valley Writer’s Guild. My hobbies include reading, crocheting and walking my naughty chihuahuas. One of my fa...

Discovering a new pub every weekend...

My paramour and I visit a different pub every weekend. If you want to experience the authentic British way of life, stop at a country pub. There's more to England than London. Country pubs are the local haunt to watch football, catch up with mates and just relax. Pubs can be hundreds of years old and offer a slice of our history where generations of proper blokes have been downing bitter in the winter and lager in the summer. If you're not a local, you'll stick out like a sore thumb (especialy if you order a latte and avocado on toast) but you'll always be welcomed with open arms. And if you misbehave, they'll stick you in the pillory.Photos copyright  SvD.Original link

Dr. Jane Greer Radio Show Q & A

Dr. Jane Greer and I had an engaging conversation discussing the many aspects of infidelity. She’s a marriage and family therapist, sex expert, author, radio host, and creator of the popular celebrity sex & relationship commentary, “SHRINK WRAP,” on what we can learn from the trials and triumphs of celebrity relationships (seen in Huffington Post, Psychology Today, Cupid’s Pulse, and on-air at OK!TV). Through her media collaborations and expert insights, Dr. Greer is recognized as a leading national expert in sex, love, and relationships.Needless to say, she’s heard her fair share of infidelity stories within the walls of her private practice in New York. Listen in to hear different perspect...

Love Act

Love Act
Is it an act?The worst crime in the world is to play with love.Love defines truth. We cannot survive without both. The first time you feel that feeling you know it is important. You can’t take your mind off it.It keeps a man and a woman joined even when 5000 miles apart. The military knows it for sure. Letters from home are clutched tightly to the heart. Top left pocket. One has no problem taking any bullet to protect family. To protect a child. To protect love. Why?…… Why?To protect our flag. Why is it worth it? That is a love act. To give up your life for another. To give up your life for all….Fools for love? If not for Love then for what? With Love in your heart you see and feel the need of ot...

Beautiful Padstow

If you haven't visited Cornwall, give it a go. Padstow is very bourgeois with lovely pubs, art galleries, restaurants, bakeries, a mecca for Rick Stein fans, and interesting bric-à-brac shops surrounding the harbour. Our two doggies had a whale of a time at the water's edge. Enjoy life. Live for today.Original link

Standardized Protocols Needed To Improve Health Outcomes Related To Pregnancy Complications

(BPT) - The rates of maternal mortality and preterm birth continue to rise dramatically in the United States. According to the CDC and March of Dimes, more than 700 women die of pregnancy-related causes in the U.S. every year, and more than 1,000 babies are born prematurely every day. It's impossible to point to one specific cause for these serious issues, particularly because of how segmented our healthcare system is. But by standardizing protocols across the U.S. healthcare system, advocates say we could decrease harm and improve care for women and their unborn babies. While "healthcare" is often discussed as a monolith, a single system in need of repair, it's actually a fractured industry ...

The Top 5 Supplements Everyone Should Be Taking In The New Year

(BPT) - Are supplements part of your daily routine? If they are, you're not alone. According to the National Institutes of Health, more than half of all Americans take one or more supplements in their quest for better health. That's because even if you have an ultra-healthy diet (and many people don't), it's difficult to get all the vitamins and nutrients your body needs for optimal health from food alone. So supplementing your diet is a good idea. But going to a store or searching online for supplements can be confusing. There are a lot of choices out there, and not all supplements are created equal. So how do you know you'll actually be getting the benefits of the supplements you take? The a...

How Ancient Ingredients Can Give Your Winter Health A Boost Today

BPT) - Whether it's a hot drink of honey, lemon and brandy, or a steaming bowl of chicken soup, many families have age-old home remedies, passed down through the generations, that they still use today when winter kicks into high gear. Grandma knew a thing or two about soothing a sore throat, quieting a cough or settling a rumbling stomach without a trip to the pharmacy. Many of those passed-down secrets originated in ancient times, and were implemented to boost the immune system to help fight off bugs before they took hold. While some of those age-old remedies are still in use today, there are some more modern ways to help support your health."Today, many of us rely on the convenience of vita...
