“Do you realize,” he began, “that what you ask me to do, I could be executed for? You are to be married,” he said, coming to his senses. “I do know this. But, when we were together today, I didn’t feel hopeless anymore. When you kissed me, I felt the blood warm in my veins and I felt like living again. I felt joy. Tuesday’s Tales: When God Speaks by Lissa Dobbs

The sun shone through the window and made it nearly impossible for me to see the cash register. The typical morning rush was in full swing, and help wasn’t expected for another two hours. Nothing new. The same old, same old. That was just how my weekends were. But there was something odd about this weekend. Nothing large, mind you, just something that caught my attention. Over and over again, the customers’ totals came up to $7.77. For several years before that my life had been…interesting. I had gone through a lot of changes, and, while I believed I’d weathered them well, I still felt somewhat trapped. There were things I wanted do, goals I wanted to pursue, but I’d convinced myself that th...

Teaser Tuesday: Through Glass Darkly

TGD 3d book
That night, after all of the excitement of the day, Olivia lay on the couch watching television. She kept thinking about Jody’s crime scene. She wondered how she could possibly help. She knew nothing about investigations and didn’t know if it was a task she was up for. She witnessed yet another crossing, but with a much more tragic precursor. She wondered, given her abilities, how the crime could be solved without those abilities. She knew it would be difficult to separate the factual evidence from the information she’d gathered from Jody. Although at this point, the information she had wasn’t very helpful. Suddenly, she found herself standing in a place she didn’t recognize. She saw white t...

Thursday’s Special Feature: Joyce Gatschenberger

Getting This Done Writing a family story involves investigating and retelling intricate details of one’s ancestors.  The process can be time-consuming and emotionally exhausting.  Deciding to enter this endeavor appeared to be straightforward and obvious.  Time was available and the intention had been simmering within me.  My journey of memoir writing began. Three years have deteriorated since I made that decision.  A convoluted web of intrusions has invaded my attempts to complete this task and been overwhelming and enticing – not writing is always easy.  Staying on task, monitoring my writing habits and truth to the discipline, of task completion, were tested at every turn.  I  physically ...

Arise, Sir Cry Baby David!!!!

David Beckham OBE was once asked if he intended to have his son Brooklyn christened. Dave, or Rodney to give him his proper name’s, priceless reply was: ‘Yeah we probably will, but we don’t know into what religion.’ Ever since, Dave has been managing to fool his worldwide fanbase, the gullible celebrity obsessed media, politicians, the FA, The London Olympic Bid committee and probably his missus into thinking that he’s as thick as pig shit. And yet all the while, the crafty, squeaky clean Leytonstone boy has been making secret arrangements to avoid paying tax, has shagged his lesbian nanny, fleeced LA Galaxy, and has even managed to move the Beckham brand into UNICEF. Dave you see, makes eve...

Tuesday’s Tales: The Joy of Remembering

15727392_10210578145123688_1486390073001210304_n
I recently lost a loved one, and although it’s been hard, I must admit it’s not as hard as it has been. Why? Because I believe that this life isn’t the end. I have hope. Why do I have hope? Because I embrace a belief system that thinks outside of the box. This post isn’t to indoctrinate you. It’s simply to share a viewpoint and to help you through any losses you’ve had. It’s a way to show you that just because the sun is setting in someone’s life, it doesn’t mean that their light is snuffed out. Every time the person crosses your mind, their light shines. Each time you put on their favorite perfume or see a flower that they loved, you keep that person alive. For those of us who have “gifts” ...

A New Era

The election is over and we have a new president. I for one am glad it’s over! You would expect the lunacy to be over as well. Unfortunately, it isn’t. It doesn’t matter what your party affiliation is or who you wanted to win, Donald Trump is our president. I am still reading and hearing about people saying, He’s not my president; He’s a lunatic: I’m not supporting him; I’m opposing him, and on and on. The news is reporting riots because of the election and even our elected officials (both parties) are speaking out against our new president. It began before he was even sworn into office. One thing this election has done is shine light on the corruption inside the beltway. I believe the reaso...
