It feels good to say “I will never forgive you”. Never Forgive. It is a threat and an empowering statement. Don’t mess with me.
But it is also too late if the act to be forgiven has already done its harm. “You slandered my family!” “You desecrated my flag.” “You mocked my God.” “I will never forgive.” “You stole my money.” “You wrecked my car.” “You killed my dog.” “You are history.” “I am coming for you in the night.”
Red lines must be red lines. Someone must draw them. Otherwise there is nothing to fear if you are evil. Punishment must be more than words. Sometimes it must be violent and massively deadly. Innocent bystanders getting consumed in the flames. Their families will never forgive.
Deep inside no one escapes guilt. Insecurity is rampant and demands more evil and selfishness to stay ahead of the pain. But deep down they know.
Defiance must come before compassion. The only way out is Faith or death… possibly eternal…
Hate will be borne until one realizes that is a private cancer robbing one of potential. To become who you were meant to be means you have to be free of negative burdens. You must find a way to forgive so you can move on.
Tragedy and intentional tragedy are bridges down on your highway. Forgiveness is the only bridge. To never forgive is to never know what is waiting on the other side.
Is forgiveness possible?
That is everyone’s private journey.
You are at a Cross-Road.
