Review for Congress has a Library?
August 21, 2019Format: Paperback”Congress has a Library?” is interesting and very educational. It shares a myriad of fun facts about the Library of Congress that many children, and parents, may not know. For example, did you know there is a special Young Reader’s Room with a unique archway? Did you know at one time, the Library of Congress had 6, 000 of Thomas Jefferson’s books that cost $23,950? Not only that, but you will learn about some of the “First Dogs” of our presidents. Readers will find there are so many books that the Library of Congress holds, it has three buildings, named for Presidents Adams, Jefferson and Madison.
The book shares lovely colorful illustrations, as well as questions at the end so readers can test their knowledge. However, I didn’t see the answers, but it’s possible the author wanted readers to find them so they would recall them next time. I enjoyed the book and I think it is a valuable resource for children and their families. Learning the history of America is very important and this book will certainly help meet that goal. * I reviewed this book through the Book Taster’s program.
