A beautiful poem of love
I read this book last year. What a wonderful poem of love! it has to be the longest prose poem I have so far read. The writer uses an elegiac style that captures light and intensity of place and emotion, surrounding the young woman and man who are fighting to stay together despite all the odds.
They come to England and both study at University, fulfilling their dreams but losing their family ties in the process. However, rather than become un-tethered, they cleave together in the most touching way. Small things like presents, kisses and looking at flowers fill them, and the reader, with delight.
I found the prose style a little tricky to follow in places and one or two items of grammar may or may not be intentionally jarring, but overall, a delightful and easy read,. I recommend this.
