Review: THE CLAY LION

Did you ever want to go back in time to change things around in your past? The undo button we all fantasize about. Amalie Jahn explores this concept in her touching novel, The Clay Lion. Brooke Wallace cannot deal with the sudden death of her younger brother and travels back in time three times to try to modify the events of his life. Her trips are meticulously planned to correspond with the exact event she wants to change in order to avoid his death. The themes of control and cause and effect are paramount in this emotional coming of age story. Brooke must learn that ultimately, she can only control her own life, and there are sometimes negative consequences in trying to direct someone else's life. A thought-provoking look at the painful journey of grief and heartbreak, and without a doubt, a strong recommendation for the young and adult reader alike.
