Notwithstanding the fact that the cover to this book is breathtaking, the pages had me questioning my own mortality and how my children would react if - God forbid I had Alzheimer's. You realize while reading just how it affects families. Watching someone you once looked up to who was larger than life - dwindle away in the confines of a debilitating disease is beyond comprehension. And to think that you have no power over it is gut wrenching. The characters are very real and life like - real in the sense that I felt as though I was in the room. I could feel the angst, the fear and sadness. Each chapter grabbed at my heart and drew me further into this journey. Another thing I found very interesting - the profound simplicity of the chapter titles. A well thought out plan by the author, I would venture to guess. You will not regret reading this book - It is a beautifully written tale of soulful journey with an everyday family as they seek the validation to accept and let go. I give this book a well deserved Five Stars! Well written Mr. Fischer!
