I bought this book directly from the author. All my English classes in college just about killed any taste for poetry. There is only so much analysis a person can take before going numb. It has not been until recently that I gave poetry another try. I bought this author's other book, By Light Betrayed, because the cover model is smokin' hot. However, when I read her poetry, I remembered what poetry is supposed to be. So I was way excited when I saw she had another book. I loved the poems in here. This books has slept on my desk for a couple of months because I wanted to take me time in reading it. Poetry is beautiful, ugly, happy and sad. But at the core, poetry is raw. This book is a perfect example. Some of my favorite poems are "Love's Last Stand", "Brewing Bruises", "Let's Pretend", "Real Foodies" and "Woman".
