Have you ever thought that if you have to deal with one more thing, you’ll go mad? Anna Jenkins’ life had been planned. She was marrying a perfect man and they were going to have an impeccable life. Then her fire fighter husband-to- be had a horrific accident and her dream shattered. She packed the wedding gifts into a storage locker and drove west to start a life away from everything and everyone she knew. She arrived as a mystery woman to the small town inhabitants of Regina Beach, SK. Their focus became finding out why Anna inherited their neighbor’s cottage. Anna didn’t bargain for a community or a friend in Nick Donnelly, the local B&B host, and temporary town foreman.
Nick Donnelly came home to recuperate from his injuries he sustained in Afghanistan. He would learn to live without his left lower leg and he wouldn’t let it stop him from returning to active duty.
Nick and Anna become friends. Nick begins to dream of a life farming the land with a family of his own. When Anna finds out that Nick wants to return to harm’s way, she puts the brakes on loving a man who might die because of his career. Intellectually, she knows that all life cycles end, but emotionally, she doesn’t know if she has the strength to support Nick.
